About Me

Stephanie Jeter is an award-winning filmmaker from Chicago. She is the writer and director of Vanishing Oakenwald, a one-act play that debuted at the Chicago Home Theater Festival in 2016. Her past film and TV credits include Searching for Isabelle (writer/director), Viktory (director), and HIVE (co-creator, co-director). Her projects have screened at the The American Black Film Festival, Twister Alley, the Montreal International Black Film Festival, and SeriesFest among many others. Her films have been distributed on Amazon Prime, Xfinity Streampix, OTV, and various international streaming platforms through Gravitas Ventures.

Stephanie’s feature screenplay Fifth City was a Sundance Development Track second-rounder in 2021, a finalist for a Stowe Lab Fellowship in 2022 garnering her an invitation to the Stowe Narrative Lab, and an Austin Film Festival script competition second-rounder in 2023. Stephanie’s professional and creative accomplishments have been recognized with coverage in Deadline, Film Inquiry, Reel Chicago’s Black List in 2020, and the Newcity Film 50 list in 2022.
